As I finish my first year of teaching - I find myself having gained a new appreciation for all of the art forms I enjoy most -- Drawing, Painting, and Photography.  Moving forward, I have changed my username to AlyssVisuals - detaching my account from the first username it had, which though it wasn't anything unprofessional or cheesy - it just wasn't me, and isn't really related to my interests.  I needed something more related to my name and what I do.  I'm a visual artist, so AlyssVisuals was a fitting name.  In the coming year, I hope to create more traditional artwork away from just photography (though I'll still take plenty of photographs I'm sure, which I'm sure I'll continue to upload in bulk sets weeks after they were taken ).  Summer has arrived which gives me more time to really challenge myself to create more unique pieces that explore new ideas.  I hope to have some new creations for you in the coming months.

Updates:

I now teach Photography (primarily film process - so using a darkroom) at a high school, as well as drawing.
I purchased a Nikon D5100, 2 lenses: 18-55 & 55-300.  LOVE the 55-300.
Will be scanning in and posting film shots ASAP and hopefully posting more digital as well.

I haven't been on here in months, so I had quite a bit to upload.  Many photos, and I've decided to add some of my traditional artworks as well.  I am in my last year of college, and will receive a Bachelors of Arts in Fine Arts with a minor in K-12 Education, and will be student teaching in a couple of months.  So although my primary uploads on here are photos, I'm a traditional artist as well.  I have some art to create for a show in the coming months, and will upload those upon completion.  

In other updates: from the photos, you will see that little Holly is now big Holly, and even the newer photos of her are probably smaller than she is now, they're at least 6 months old.  And we also adopted a new cat, Saydy, a beautiful Tortishell with bright green eyes.

I've just started uploading some of my photography work.  So far I only have digital work up, but eventually I plan to scan in my film shot photos as well(which subject-wise, are more object and nature based).

Most digital work is shot with a Nikon D60.
